YouTube has been calling the shots for many years and it uses the same metrics for countries like the USA and the rest of the world but unless some support is given to creators the platform will remain a place were the community is made up of people re-uploading UGC of little or no quality, scaring advertisers of.
Other platforms are coming to the table wanting to eat the same lunch, the Video war is definitely on. Hope that competition is going to help creators make a living on the evolution of the Television Industry..
YouTube does a fantastic job of generating zillions of video views for its community. Yet it does a relatively poor job of helping their users earn money. This is likely to due to a couple of reasons. Advertisers have been reluctant to pay premium rates for ads against user-generated content that they haven’t vetted. And YouTube can be stingy about sharing video revenue because there hasn’t been any serious competition that can deliver viewers at such scale… Until now.
